Lauren Ho, acupuncturist
Lauren is a practitioner of Chinese medicine dedicated to helping you minimize pain and discomfort, reach your wellness goals, and achieve optimal physical and mental health. Her approach is three-fold: relieve symptoms, address underlying causes, and support constitutional balance. To do this, she utilizes a combination of techniques that may include acupuncture, massage, cupping, moxabustion, Chinese herbs, dietary and self-care advice, or appropriate referral. Even the most needle-phobic patients may benefit from Lauren’s services as she was also trained in a very gentle Japanese system that utilizes non-insertive techniques. Whatever your treatment goals may be, Lauren is ready to help with a treatment plan customized uniquely for you. Chronic pain, acute pain, injury recovery, mood or emotional imbalances, sleep problems, digestive imbalances, low energy, stress, challenging life transitions, challenged immunity, women’s health, and conjunctive care in cases of serious or chronic disease are all within the realm of Lauren’s treatment capacities.
It was due to a serious family illness that was untreatable and not satisfactorily explainable by modern medicine that Lauren developed a curiosity for “alternative” medicine, despite holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology and having a strong scientific research background. This curiosity eventually led her to attend the National College of Natural Medicine (now NUNM) where she graduated with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2014. She found the ancient medical system to be profound, empowering, and life changing- it even had explanations and treatments for problems that western medicine did not, with plenty of evidence of efficacy to satisfy her scientific mind. She is now licensed as an acupuncturist by the Oregon Medical Board, is an NCCAOM Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, and is passionate about sharing this medicine with others.
